Privacy Policy

You may share information with Heritage AI directly, including:

• account and profile information
• contact information
• heritage records and cultural materials
• documents, photographs, audio, video, oral histories, notes, metadata, and other uploaded material
• family or lineage information
• information submitted through Heritage AI tools

You may choose to interact with Heritage AI through WhatsApp. When you do, Heritage AI may receive messages, voice notes, media, phone numbers, message metadata, and other information you intentionally send. Material submitted through WhatsApp may be processed to provide Heritage AI services in the same way as material submitted through the web application.

Voice recordings you submit may be transcribed. Transcripts may be summarised, catalogued, tagged, or used to generate structured Heritage AI records such as Memory Notes. Transcription is imperfect, and you should review generated transcripts and records for accuracy before relying on them.

Heritage AI uses artificial intelligence services to help with transcription, organisation, cataloguing, search, summarisation, entity extraction, and conversational research.

AI-generated content may contain errors. Heritage AI does not treat AI output as automatic historical verification, and human review remains important — particularly for genealogical, community, and institutional records.

• generate outputs you request
• operate accounts and authentication
• communicate service information
• maintain security and prevent misuse
• support research and discovery features where you have permitted it

Contributions do not automatically become public. Depending on the product and account type, you may have visibility choices such as Private, Family, Community, Public, or Institutional.

Visibility and historical verification are separate concepts. Making a record more widely visible does not mean Heritage AI has verified its historical accuracy.

Heritage AI relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers for functions such as:

• hosting and cloud infrastructure
• databases and storage
• email
• authentication
• artificial intelligence processing
• WhatsApp / Meta messaging infrastructure

These providers handle information on our behalf in order to operate the service.

Information may be retained while it is needed to provide the service, maintain records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect the platform and its users. Retention is subject to your deletion rights and applicable law.

You can request deletion of your account or personal information by emailing support@heritageai.tech. Full details of the process are on the Data Deletion Request page.

Heritage AI is not intended for children to create accounts independently where this is prohibited by applicable law. Family heritage information involving minors should be submitted by an appropriate parent, guardian, or authorised adult.

Heritage AI uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim to.

Heritage AI may be accessed from multiple countries, and information may be processed in jurisdictions different from the one in which you live.

We may update this policy as Heritage AI develops. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
